It is not good enough to claim you are for economic development – everyone is. I have grown up around and worked for small businesses all my life and know the difficulties entrepreneurs face. Marion needs a State Representative that will fight for small businesses so they can continue to produce good jobs for Iowans.
Relief for Property Tax Payers
Iowa has the 4th highest commercial property taxes in the country and the 16th highest residential property taxes. This has to change. High taxes stifle business growth and make it difficult for our citizens to make ends meet.
Keeping Marion Safe
My wife and I chose to live and raise our family in Marion because of the safety and small town feel. We must continue to keep Marion safe by providing law enforcement with modern technology and resources, while providing stiffer penalties, to combat today’s criminals.
Making Iowa #1 in Education
Even here in Iowa we live in a global economy and must stay ahead of global competition. We must keep moving Iowa forward by providing our students with the best textbooks, the best computers, and most of all the best teachers.
